My daily practice involves living in emergence. For the last 14 years I have been coaching as my main source of income. This work has been such a gift to me. For the first 37 years of my life I was searching for my vocation, and the reason I couldn’t find it was because it didn’t exist yet. 15 or 20 years ago, a coach that didn’t work on a sports field was a rare exception. Why is this? What happened that coaching needed to emerge?

There is no doubt in my mind that humanity is about emergence. If we relate the history of humans on earth to the birthing of a child, we could use the metaphor that we are entering the final stages, where birth is immanent. The mothers womb is no longer able to sustain the baby, and it simply must come out into the world to start to sustain itself in a new way. This is an example of emergence. Sustained By Beauty

Every day that I spend more time experiencing beauty I am happier, more connected, whole. In my earlier years as an adult, I allowed life to be too busy to pay attention to the beautiful, and the exquisite moments passed me by. What a tragedy. Such an irremediable loss. I am now very happily making up for these missed moments, seeing beauty in so many places - now a convert and addict to its gloriousness. What a wonderful thing to be addicted to... Not the superficial type of modern beauty based on glamour, but the beauty that comes with integrity, alignment, heartfelt connection, and love. Beauty that takes your breath, and demands of you a moments pause.

In the entrance to my home is a photograph of Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsunday Islands of Queensland. Known around the world as one of the most exquisite beaches in the world, the words underneath this panorama say “Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.” Being in the presence of beauty in mind body and spirit daily is nourishment to our soul. Compassion

How does one write an article about compassion? And to do so with the elegance this subject deserves?

I have written about how my first words as a toddler were all spitfire and aggression...”bugger, bugger, bugger” and then I spat repeatedly. I was born with a streak of bull terrier assertiveness. Get out of my way, or else. Do not cross me. As I grew older this morphed into “do not lie or cheat intentionally towards me” or you will know my wrath.

As the paradox would have it be, all as part of the divine comedy, my greatest gift in life has been to learn to live in compassion. And that the more I do, the more connected I feel to all of life and the happier I am. More...

Running the Adelaide Hills

Last week I was in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia facilitating an event on Indigenous Prosperity. (more to come on this later). As my running shoes are the first items to be packed, I look forward to exploring new territory where ever I am.

I left the Gold Coast as the temperature sat around 34 degree’s Celsius (93 F) and thankfully threw a jacket into my bag at the last minute. I didn’t take off said jacket for three days, including the first night, when I wore it to bed, before succumbing to turning on the heat in my room.

My first morning of running was cold. Foggy. And there was a misty type rain. The cool weather was a welcome relief after the weeks of running in sweltering temperatures on the Gold Coast. Usually I am a map girl. I like to study maps and get the lay of the land. This morning, no maps were available, so it was an adventure run.

I did however, have my new Garmin 405 CX with me. (GPS watch). Headed up to the Mt Lofty Lookout. The fog cover ensured no view beyond 10 meters. Discovered that the Adelaide Hills had many trails, so got very excited about the possibility of exploring different trails over the four days. More...

John Boswell has created some remarkable videos celebrating the inspiring depth and vastness of the evolutionary perspective. His first attempt was so successful on YouTube that he did three more 4-minute videos. What makes his four creations so unique is that he uses existing film clips to make luminaries like Carl Sagan somehow SING the words they SPOKE years ago. President Evo Morales(Bolivia) is inviting activists, scientists and government officials from around the world to an alternative climate change conference following the failure of a summit in Copenhagen.
During his presidential speech Evo Morales explained that it was important to analyse the causes of Climate Change not only the symptoms. He also explained the importance of listening and taking into account the people. He talked about a referendum in which people will be able to give their opinion on the subject.

NEW GLOBAL CLIMATE PROSPERITY SCOREBOARD FINDS OVER $1 TRILLION INVESTED IN GREEN SINCE 2007

Washington, DC – December 4, 2009 – Ethical Markets Media (USA and Brazil) and The Climate Prosperity Alliance today launched their Global Climate Prosperity Scoreboard® which tracks private investment in companies growing the green economy globally.
