1. WELCOME
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

These are times of change for many people. I'm hearing from so many of you who feel scared and anxious about all the upheaval you're facing in your lives. This month's Intuition Newsletter focuses on small ways that you can begin to let go of worry and begin to trust. See the article, "Kick the Worry Habit" in #4 below.

For a little extra help: There are still spaces left in my October 17 - 19 retreat on Martha's Vineyard. If you're looking for life direction combined with some relaxing yoga, I have a perfect weekend planned for you. I'm presenting an intuition and yoga weekend on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. I'm teaching it with acclaimed yoga instructor, Carol Nelson. You'll come away feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to take on your new life! See #7 below for more details.

I've also received many calls lately asking if I'm still doing intuitive consultations. The answer is "yes!" See # 3 below for more details or call me at 800-925-4002.

Intuitively yours,

Lynn

2. WISDOM QUOTES
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

"Dreaming is easy. Acting on those dreams -- saying to yourself, "Hey, wait a minute, I want this" -- is another kettle of fish. It takes conviction and faith, even audacity. But consider a life without art, books, movies, design or fashion. Every one of these things grew out of a dream pushing the boundaries of the possible." -- Martha Beck

"If you live to an average age of 75, you'll have 657,000 hours of life. That's simply too long a period to not have fun." -- Author unknown

"No matter what degree of insecurity you are feeling, a part of you knows there is a lot of wonderful "stuff" within you just waiting to be let out and NOW is the perfect time for opening the door to the power and love within."-- Susan Jeffers

"I could not say I believe. I know! I have had the experience of being gripped by something that is stronger than myself, something that people call God." -- Carl Jung

3. BOOK AN INTUITIVE CONSULTING SESSION!
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

Question - Do I have to travel to Boston to see you?
Answer - No. Most of my sessions are done over the phone.

Question - How could I benefit from an appointment?
Answer - You'll receive...

HELP in seeing beyond the limiting beliefs you might have of yourself or of your situation. I help you expand your view and stretch to your full potential.

ENCOURAGEMENT to see things from a fresh perspective and create options you might not have realized were there. The sessions are helpful in assessing your strengths and weaknesses and uncovering your natural talents.

UNDERSTANDING of inner messages and lessons to be learned from situations, relationships and chronic problems in your life.

DISCOVERY of the goals and visions you have for your life. I make full use of my intuitive skills to help you choose the best path to achieve your dreams.

INSIGHT into personal and business relationships. Through my intuition I can describe the often complex personality dynamics that create a relationship.

My consultations have a powerful blend of psychology, metaphysics and spirituality, plus a strong measure of practicality drawn from my business and marketing background. During a session, I'll assist you via a combination of insightful questions and intuitive guidance that help you identify your goals and show you the path that will take you there. Though occasionally there is a predictive component to an individual consultation, my work is not prediction-based because I believe that free will plays a major role in determining your future.

I can be of enormous help when you're...

- facing a new challenge or transition.
- wanting more out of your personal or work life.
- feeling stuck and needing ways to move forward.
- seeking help with a challenging relationship.

For more details, fees or to schedule a session, call me at 800-925-4002.

4. KICKING THE WORRY HABIT
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

Edward Hallowell, MD, who wrote a book entitled, "Worry: Hope and Help for a Common Condition" states, "Worry is amazingly common. At least one in four of us--about 65 million Americans--will meet the criteria for an anxiety disorder at some point in our lifetime." Most of us worry about issues that are close to home. "Can I pay my mortgage this month?" "We're not communicating any more." "My company may be downsizing." "'I've maxed out my credit cards and don't know how I'll ever pay them off. Help!"

When you worry excessively you become afraid to take a risk or try something new. Chronic worry steals your sense of safety. It takes away your peace of mind. It cheats you out of the full, rich and abundant life you deserve. You begin to lose hope that things will ever change. You become, in a word, hopeless.

Author, Melodie Beattie writes, "What if we knew for certain that everything we're worried about today will work out fine? What if . . . we knew the future was going to be good, and we would have an abundance of resources and guidance to handle whatever comes our way? What if . . . we knew everything was okay, and we didn't have to worry about a thing? What would we do then? We'd be free to let go and enjoy life."

How do you begin to make the change from being an anxious worrier to being confident about your choices and full of faith about your future? How do you, as Beattie encourages, "let go and enjoy life?" Here are some tips to help you make the transformation:

OBSERVE YOUR WORRY-- What are your most common "worry thoughts?" Over a period of several days, begin to write them down. Pay close attention to any thoughts or phrases that really grab you and disturb your well-being. Perhaps you have broad anxieties about "never getting ahead" or more specific ones like "what happens if my car breaks down and I can't afford to fix it?" Many people are not even aware that they worry. They just experience a state of generalized anxiety. Awareness of your worry habit is the first step in the transformation to peace of mind.

SHIFT YOUR THINKING-- After you've had a chance to analyze the pattern of your worrying, you may begin to see a theme emerge. Perhaps you'll recognize a deeply held belief that you're "not lucky" or that you'll always be poor. Begin to examine those thoughts. How could you shift those opinions so that they're more positive? I'm not suggesting that, like Pollyana, you just wish them away. I'm advocating replacing the chronic worry thoughts with a new set of thoughts that create a more peaceful mindset. When you find yourself beginning to worry, try one of these phrases instead: "Things have a way of working out." "Most of the things I worry about never happen anyway." "I'll get through this tough time." What are the expressions that make you feel better? One positive thought at a time can gradually shift the balance of your thinking from depressing to encouraging. Write down your positive thoughts and put them in a prominent location.

DISTRACT YOURSELF -- If you've worked up a good head of steam worrying and the thought shifting seems laughable, distract yourself! Forcibly take your mind off the thing you're anxious about. Get out of the house. Call a friend. Go to the movies. Pet your cat. Take the dog for a walk. Talk to a neighbor. Read a good book. Go to the gym. Plan a special dinner for yourself or you and your mate. Play with your kids. Think about some fun activities for the upcoming weekend. What works for you?

GET CREATIVE --I've talked to people about how they handle bouts of overzealous worrying and heard some funny, but effective techniques. Cliff has a worry box. He writes all of his anxieties on a piece of paper and sticks them in a box on his bookshelf. Once a year he pulls them all out and is delighted to discover that 99% of the things he's written about never happened. Erica exaggerates her worries and enthralls me with hysterical worst-case scenarios. She finds that if she can laugh about her concerns, she can more easily let them go! Kate has a huge "worry doll" in her office. If all else fails, she tells the doll it's her turn to worry! It serves as a reminder that she can put her worries away for the time being. What's a creative way for you to handle your concern?

TAKE ACTION -- It was Will Rogers who said the famous line, "Even if you're on the right track, you'll still get run over if you just sit there." Worry can emotionally paralyze you if you let it, and nothing cures worry faster than taking action. Sit down for a moment and write down the biggest concern you have. Maybe it's the one that wakes you up at 3 AM or it's the one that niggles at the back of your mind throughout your workday. Now quickly list four - and only four - things you can do to begin to create a solution. Your list might include calling a friend to talk over an issue, making an appointment with a financial planner to get some facts about your situation. Perhaps you could take a class to learn about managing your finances better. These tasks do not have to be big. In fact, the smaller the better, because that increases the likelihood that you'll actually do them! Write your list now.

MOVE YOUR BODY - Exercise in any form will reduce anxiety, because it induces production of endorphins, the body's natural tranquilizers. Choose an activity that's fun for you to do. There are so many to choose from - yoga, walking, swimming, playing tennis, dancing, bicycling, to name just a few. What did you enjoy doing when you were a child? That may give you a clue as to what sport to pursue as an adult. Exercise promotes sleep, reduces our tendency to overeat, helps us concentrate, and assists us in controlling worry. The United States Surgeon General reports that physical activity "reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression and fosters improvements in mood and feelings of well-being." Obviously, exercise isn't going to make your financial problems go away. What happens is, you'll feel better, experience less anxiety and have more energy. All of these will contribute to a generalized well-being that leaves you open to messages of well-being from the Universe.

PRAY OR MEDITATE -- Talk to God about your concerns. There are all kinds of formal prayers beseeching the Divine for liberation from worry. However, I'm a big believer in simply talking from your heart. "God, I'm worried about being able to pay the bills this month. I know there are many ways you can to help me work this out and create abundance. I place this in Your hands." The Reverend Robert Schuller claims that "There are 365 verses in the Bible that begin with the words "Fear not." Many religions and spiritual practices encourage us to put our fears in the hands of a higher power. Say whatever is in your mind or heart. Many people find it difficult to still their mind enough to meditate effectively. It's particularly hard when you're in a phase of anxiety. If this is true for you, simply sit for no more than five minutes and say a comforting phrase or phrases out loud or to yourself. It might be, "The Universe is abundant." "God provides all that I need." Or, "I let go of fear and worry and know that everything is working out fine." What would your comforting thought be?

6. PROSPERITY PRAYER
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*

I've written a "Prosperity Prayer" as part of a new book. I've been mentioning it in the newsletter for several months and it continues to be the most downloaded article I've written. I've used it myself, shared it with some clients and a few friends and we've all had some amazing results. Money, ideas and opportunities seem to come miraculously after saying the prayer for a few days to a few weeks. Rather than have you wait for a year or more before the book comes out, I decided to make it available now. If you'd like to have a copy, send an e-mail to ProsperityPrayer@LynnRobinson.com. You'll receive it by auto-responder. The full text of the prayer chapter is available at my Web site http://www.LynnRobinson.com. Click on "articles."

You can also order a beautifully matted copy of it at http://www.LynnRobinson.com/prod_products.html

I LOVE TO HEAR YOUR SUCCESS STORIES. PLEASE SEND ME A NOTE!

Finding Your Life Direction Through Intuition

Intuition is a ready source of direction available to all of us; an invisible intelligence that animates our world and helps guide our lives. and life direction.

* Find creative solutions to difficult problems.

We begin Friday evening at 7 PM with candlelit restorative yoga and an introduction to Lynn's teaching. There will be a Saturday morning class from 9 - 1 and a Saturday afternoon class from 4 - 6:30. The a.m. class will open with a yoga practice led by Carol Nelson; the p.m. class will end with a yoga practice. The weekend will conclude with a Sunday morning yoga class from 9 - 11.
