On a more personal note, I'm turning 50 this week! It seems so hard to believe. I didn't feel old until my husband asked if he could put 50 candles on my birthday cake. At first my only concern was about burning our house down. Then it hit me. That's a LOT of candles!
I truly don't feel any older. I look at my 21-year-old son and wonder how he got to be MY age. Rabbi Harold Kushner has a great way of thinking about maturity. He said, "I would rather think of life as a good book. The further you get into it, the more it begins to come together and make sense."
Life is good. ;-)

4. HOW CAN YOU TELL WHEN IT'S YOUR
INTUITION ON THE LINE? ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*
The question I'm asked most often is "How do I know it's my intuition and not fear or wishful thinking?" This is such a tough question to answer because it's really about knowing yourself. Most of us feel fear when we try anything new because it takes us out of our comfort zone. Conversely, most of us have an ideal life we'd like to experience and our intuition can help guide us there. But how do we know it's not just "Pollyanna thinking?" Here are some guidelines to help you in trusting your intuition:
* If the message contains thoughts of hope, love, encouragement, wisdom, strength and comfort, it's your intuition speaking.
* You may feel a sense of peace come over you as you contemplate a right course of action. You may still feel nervous about actually doing this thing but you will feel right about it nonetheless.
* You feel consistently passionate and excited about something over a period of time. This is usually a nudge from your intuition to go for it.
* You've followed your guidance and taken some small steps towards your goal and you find that opportunities begin to open up to you. You're on the right path!
* You're drawn to a book or overhear a conversation and the words seem as though they were directly spoken to you in answer to your request for guidance.
* You begin to feel grateful or have an attitude of appreciation for your life even though you may be going through a difficult time. This is your intuition speaking.
* Insight that comes quickly into your mind after a prayer or request for guidance is usually the right path to follow.

7. MAKING THE CHOICE TO BE HAPPY

Part of learning to trust your intuition is remembering to ask, "Does this decision make me happy?" or "Do I feel energized by this decision?" There are many ways to ask the question and experience the answer but here's the truth: your intuition will provide you with information to make positive choices. Would it make sense for you to be sent to earth with a magnificent inner guidance system and every time you trusted it you felt awful?! No!
The root of the word enthusiasm is entheos. It literally means "God Within." When you trust your Divine intuition you feel better. You might even feel enthusiastic! We often ask the wrong questions. "Why did this happen to me?" "Why can't I make more money?" Your intuition works best when you begin to put your focus on what you want. Where do you want to end up? What goal or outcome do you want to create? "What makes me feel lighter (more energized, happier, relieved)" is the question to ask.
When I read for people intuitively, I see their choices and decisions as a form of energy. When you constantly put your focus and attention on what you don't want or on what makes you unhappy your energy stays stuck. You keep attracting the same old thing. The same old relationships that don't work, the same old lack of money, the same old issues time and again.
It takes commitment to stay focused on what you do want. Here's the way I see it work in my sessions with clients. When they can get themselves thinking consistently about the new goal or objective through visualizing, affirming, and feeling excited about their intent, they begin to put out a new energy.
It's as if they are putting forth a new signal to the Universe that says, "Here's what I want." "Here's what I'm focused on now." I'm going to leave it to the quantum physics folks to help you understand how and why this process works. It's as if the Universe reads the vibration or energy and wants to send you the perfect circumstance to match what you want. Go forth and create!
