Last month I asked Intuition Newsletter subscribers to send me their intuition stories for possible inclusion in a popular women's magazine. Wow! You responded with amazing accounts of using your intuition to solve health problems, discover new careers, resolve conflicts with family members, and lead you to your soul mates. Thank you!
First for Women magazine chose the stories of Mitchie Mullendore from Kansas City, Missouri and Pat Beck from St. Louis Park, Minnesota from the hundreds I received. Mitchie is a flight attendant. Her airline lost two planes on September 11, the day she was due back to work after a leave of absence. Pat's inner voice encouraged her to pick up a newspaper out of her recycle-bin where she discovered a help wanted ad that led her to her dream job. You can see their photos and read their stories in more detail in the August 2 issue which will be on the newsstands at the end of July.

4. GRATITUDE = FINANCIAL MIRACLE GROW
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*
Just for a moment, bring to mind something that someone else has that you want. It could be a brand new car, a designer outfit, a huge house or an item of jewelry. Sit with the comparison for about thirty seconds. How do you feel? Words that I frequently hear from people doing this exercise are: constricted, empty, worthless, jealous, hopeless, resentful and despairing. You know deep down in your soul that those are not feelings that enhance prosperity or financial well-being. It's almost as if those strong emotions set up a resistance energy that pushes away the good things that you desire.
Now try the opposite. Think of something you currently have in your life that you feel great about. You could choose from the above list or reflect on less material items such as the fact that you have good friends, kind neighbors, great health, a supportive spouse, or terrific kids. Sit with those thoughts of gratitude for the same thirty seconds and take note of how you feel at the end of that time. You will probably use words such as open, thankful, strong, happy, hopeful, refreshed, appreciative and invigorated. What's your guess about which group of thoughts and feelings make you more open to receiving more abundant blessings into your life?
Oprah Winfrey stated this concept well when she said, "When you dwell on all the reasons you have to be grateful, you open yourself to receiving even more good - and more good comes to you. As you begin to feel abundant, you'll be willing and able to pass positive things on to others."
Gratitude is truly the "Miracle Grow" for a successful and prosperous life. What do you want to grow? If you pour the fertilizer on thoughts like, "I don't have enough," "I'll never get out of debt," "We'll never be able to afford that," you'll just be proliferating weeds. Conversely, think about what happens if you pour the fertilizer on prospering and grateful thoughts. "We have wonderful, healthy food to eat." "My car is running well and gets me to and from my job." "It's good to have a job in a down economy." "I appreciate my healthy body and the energy I have to do all the things I want." Those are the thoughts that grow a rich life and attract the material wealth you desire and deserve.
Get into the habit of observing and noting abundance wherever you see and experience it. You'll stay stuck in scarcity if you focus on what you don't have. It just takes practice to shift the focus from lack to abundance. Prosperity is not something out there waiting for us to find it. It is something that exists now. It is the natural state of the Universe. When you are grateful, you are not blocking the flow of abundance, you are opening to it.
Cheryl Richardson, author of "Take Time for Your Life," puts it this way, "A grateful and generous heart is like a magnet. When you take the time to acknowledge the abundance in your life and share the wealth, you attract even more blessings and reasons to feel grateful. In this way, receiving and giving creates a circle of energy that serves us all."
There is an old saying, ""I had the blues because I had no shoes, until upon the street, I met a man that had no feet." How many times have you overlooked the plenty that is all around you and failed to appreciate it? When you begin to have an attitude of gratitude towards what you already have, you'll multiply your abundance in all areas of your life. Begin today.
