The topic of intuition seems to be in the news a lot recently. The latest was an inspiring commencement speech at Stanford University by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and Pixar Animation Studios. In it, he said, "Your time is limited; so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

6. THE POWER OF LETTING GO
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*
As human beings we are wired for wisdom and guidance from God. When we learn how to listen to our intuition we will hear the guidance that will show us the next step to take. We don't have to be concerned with all the minutiae about how to reach our goals and visions. We only need to be concerned about listening for the next steps.
You have probably read the words, "let go and let God" many times. And you've probably asked yourself, what is this trust all about? Does it mean that you have no role or any responsibility for action in this process? Letting it go to God always sounded so passive to me. It used to scare me more than help me. I thought of it as giving up on what I wanted. But it's not that at all.
To trust in God is to believe that there is a friendly, abundant, loving, wise energy in the Universe that supports you and wants what's best for you. It supports your highest good. Letting your fears, concerns, wishes, prayers "go to God" means that you trust and work with this energy which powers the universe. God will work with you through your own built-in guidance system to help draw to you what you want.
I'm most comfortable when I'm taking action on something. The concept of seeming to do nothing except "let go to God" has been a tough one to get my head around! Here's the technique I use when I've been struggling with an issue with no results. I call it the...
...Surrender Box
Write out your worry or concern on a 3 x 5 card. Here's an example: "Dear God - I'm having a difficult time communicating with my boss about my job responsibilities. I need a new way to open up the dialogue between us and I feel stuck. Everything I've tried hasn't worked. I am surrendering this concern to you and ask for divine guidance to bring about a positive result."
Summarize your concern with a question. "How can I communicate more effectively with my boss?"
Close your eyes and go to a place of peace inside you. Take a few slow deep breaths until you feel your energy begin to shift. Call God to you. Imagine being in the presence of incredible love, light and wisdom.
Repeat the concern that you've written on the card. Ask your question. Listen for any words, feelings, images or sudden insights. Maintain a respectful silence, allowing any wisdom to emerge into your consciousness. Sometimes a new option will emerge out of the quiet. When you feel ready, imagine placing this concern in a bubble of light. See it being released into the universe. Know that you will receive further information to help you resolve this issue.
Place your card in a box and place it on a shelf where you will see it frequently. I have my box decorated with the words "Surrender" on it. When you find yourself beginning to worry about this issue at any point in the day or night, remind yourself that you have let go of this concern and that you will receive guidance to resolve the problem.
As you listen for guidance on a daily basis you'll find yourself being given one step at a time. The answer may come through an inspired idea, a dream, a fleeting insight for new directions. When you consistently look within, asking "What is the right course of action?" or "What path should I take?" you will be rewarded with wise divine guidance. It will always be there gracing your steps through life. You will find that your fear begins to drop away and you'll move forward with confidence in all your endeavors.
Go with what your inner guidance directs you to do. Sometimes this takes faith and courage. Begin with small steps. As you continue to trust this insight, you will come to understand that your life is on purpose and your mission is unfolding. There truly is invisible intelligence leading and guiding you to a more peaceful and harmonious life.

Florida State University in Tallahassee has put up an awe-inspiring page on their site. View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the Earth. Then move through space towards the Earth in successive orders of magnitude until you reach a tall oak tree just outside the buildings of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee. After that, begin to move from the actual size of a leaf into a microscopic world that reveals leaf cell walls, the cell nucleus, chromatin, DNA and finally, into the subatomic universe of electrons and protons. It's as if these folks were witness to creation, and they captured it for our viewing pleasure! Sit back and imagine how perfect our universe is! You can play it forward and backward to be amazed over and over.

After that you'll receive daily notes from "The Universe." Some of them are a little odd! Here's my favorite personalized email from last month:
"What if it was your downtime, your lounging-in-bed-too-long time, your walkabout time, and your blow-Friday-off time that made possible your greatest achievements? Would they still make you feel guilty, Lynn? Or would you allow yourself to enjoy them? About time - The Universe."
