If YOUR intuition is telling you it’s time to backup your computer, LISTEN to it! ;-) I’ve had a relaxing last few months. It’s the first summer in five years I haven’t been writing or actively promoting a book. I rediscovered a whole bunch of things I love to do, swimming, taking long walks, hanging out with friends, taking short trips and reading. (You should see the stack by my bed!) The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and Think Yourself Rich –- Dr. Joseph Murphy ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* This summer I’ve re-read several classic books by new-thought minister Dr. Joseph Murphy. His books, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and Think Yourself Rich have been revised and re-released in the past several years. Despite the somewhat old-fashioned wording they’re still incredibly powerful texts filled with valuable information about intuition, affirmative prayer and manifestation. I love his prayers/affirmations and his wonderfully upbeat success stories about people who have come to understand the power of the mind. Here’s one of his prayers: Infinite Intelligence knows my hidden talents and opens up a new door of expression for me in Divine order. This knowledge is immediately revealed to my conscious mind. I will follow the lead that comes clearly and definitely into my mind. Joseph Murphy was born in 1898 and was one of the original “New Thought” ministers. He seemed to have known about "The Secret” well before it burst onto the international scene last year with the movie and DVD. He wrote, “Our thoughts are creative. That is, what we think tends to change, even to create, reality. The conditions, circumstances, events, and experiences we go through are not accidents. They accurately reflect our habitual and current thinking and imagery.” I predict you’ll enjoy his books as much as I have! ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* 5. Gut Trusters Blog ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* I have a blog! Mine is called Gut Trusters. It’s filled with intuition techniques, articles, quotes and links to what others say about the topic. (Kind of like this newsletter!) In recent blog entries, I’ve written about intuition and prosperity as well as a number of techniques for boosting your intuition. HOW TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS INSTANTLY (Hint: Patience Required) ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* I am an impatient person. I don't like that I am, and I try to work on this aspect of myself constantly. I remind myself to slow down, to enjoy my life in the moment and to experience gratefulness for all that I have. I must confess this doesn't always succeed. For example, Divine Intuition had been in the bookstores only two weeks when I asked my assistant, "Why isn't it a bestseller yet!?" (I was only half kidding.) I know I'm not alone in this experience of restlessness. I hear it from my clients all the time. "I've tried affirmations, visualizations and listening to my intuition. It doesn't work! Why don't I have what I want yet?" You may wonder if you're doing something wrong, saying your affirmations improperly, or misidentifying your intuition and making bad choices. I've discovered that, for most of us, life doesn't proceed in a straight line. Despite what many self-help books imply, you don't usually sail effortlessly from the completion of one successful achievement to another. The Universe is at work behind the scenes helping you climb the ladder to your success. There is a Divine intelligence that knows exactly what you need in order to grow into the next new experience you want to create. Susan Jeffers writes in her wonderful book, End the Struggle and Dance With Life -- "When we are spiritually evolving, we are in a better place to handle whateverlife hands us." She adds, "We all want quick and easy, but when it comes to becoming a spiritual being, speed doesn't work." I've had many experiences in my life that felt like failures. At the time it was hard to imagine I was anywhere near to achieving the goals I so desperately wanted. Yet when I look back at those situations with a few decades of hindsight, I can see that the Universe had put those seeming detours in my path to help me grow into my vision. While it may have appeared to me that nothing was happening, the changes that were taking place in my emotions, thoughts and spiritual growth were profound. It's as if Divine Intelligence knew exactly what I needed to overcome the limiting beliefs I held about myself and the world. God was readying me for what I needed in order to be able to achieve the next steps in my life. You may think your goal is to get that promotion, to find your life partner, or to write a best-selling book. There's nothing wrong with that! However, God uses your desires to help you learn about love, forgiveness, kindness, community, wisdom and patience along the way. Trust and faith are the qualities to focus on while the forces of Universal wisdom do their work to assist in your spiritual unfolding. ~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* 7. Camp has been one of the high points of my year since it’s inception in 2005. I love the wonderful community created by a couple hundred women all having fun AND raising money for a good causes.
