Dear Friends Last month I was at the annual Camp Experience at Copper Mountain, CO. What fun! There were seven of you from this newsletter list who joined the group of 250 women at Camp. It was delightful to meet all of you! The motto for Camp is Women who have, helping women who need. We raised $32,000 for a variety of women-based charities. The high points for me were listening and dancing with the Elton John impersonator, hanging out with the horses for an equine learning experience, the camp crafts (I made a bracelet!), the friendships and laughter. I cant wait to go back next year! One of the more profound moments was listening to a speaker from Women for Women International. They help women who are victims of war rebuild their lives. It was an incredibly moving speech and video. There wasnt a dry eye in the audience. I have often felt overwhelmed and powerless when listening to news of the devastating effects of war. I signed up for a $27 a month pledge to sponsor a woman. Last week I received a letter from her. Mapendo is a 26-year-old mother of 5 children and the sole support of her family in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It feels good to at least do this one small thing to bring hope to life of another. Check out their website. I encourage you to donate as well.
Intuitively yours,

We all have angels guiding us
They look after us. They heal us, touch us, comfort us with
invisible warm hands
What will bring their help? Asking. Giving thanks.
When we surrender to God, we surrender to something bigger than ourselves to a universe
that knows what its doing. When we stop trying to control events they fall into a natural
order, an order that works. Were at rest while a power much greater than our own takes over,
and it does a much better job than we could have done. We learn to trust that the power that
holds galaxies together can handle the circumstance of our relatively little lives.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than
by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
"Intuition is the subliminal sense that Spirit endowed us with to maneuver safely through
the maze that is real life."
"Our prayers are answered not when we are given what we ask, but when we are challenged
to be what we can be."

~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* Clients often call me for an intuition session when theyre going through a life transition. Many people fear that theres something wrong with them when they cant instantly jump back on their feet after a setback. It seems easy for everyone else! Loretta LaRoche puts it so humorously when she says, I'm always reminding people that the one constant you can count on is that things happen and usually when you're not in the mood for them. These transitions are often characterized by feeling bored, restless, anxious and on edge. I see these feelings as a call from your wise inner being indicating that change is needed. Its as if the Universe had conspired to tell you to look within, hibernate, lie fallow for a while and regain your strength for the next season of growth. The writer Charles C. West seemed to agree when he wrote, We turn to God for help when our foundations are shaking, only to learn that it is God who is shaking them. Unfortunately, clarity about the solution doesnt usually arrive at the same time as the problem. This makes you more scared. How will you support yourself if you have to alter your life in some as yet unknown way? However all is not lost! Someone once said, "Confusion is that wonderful state that precedes clarity." Here are some ideas to consider in order to move through this time of transition wisely. Be patient Sue Monk Kidd wrote in her wonderful book, When the Heart Waits, "When you're waiting, you're not doing nothing. You're allowing your soul to grow up. If you can't be still and wait, you can't become what God created you to be." This transition period in your life is, in all likelihood, time limited. Practice saying your mantra, This too shall pass. Honor your grief It hurts to let go of the old. Whether youve lost a friend, lost a job or are just plain lost, youll go through stages of grief. The most commonly mentioned are denial, bargaining, anger, depression and acceptance. You wont go through them in order; some of these emotions will be stronger and last longer than others. The best way to manage them is to feel them and move through them. Theyre part of the healing process although they may not feel that way at the time. Manage your feelings There are many transitions that take just a few months. You come out the other side feeling life is fresh and new and the turmoil of the change youve gone through seems almost forgotten. However, there are also those changes that leave a permanent mark on your soul. Losing someone a child, a friend, a parent theres nothing you can do to bring them back. You may also have lost something intangible a sense of safety, hope, financial well-being, or a belief in your physical immortality. Whatever your loss, there is part of this over which you have no control. The part that you do control is your attitude about it. Ask your inner wisdom the question, How can I find peace in this situation? Listen for the answer. It will come, and so will your serenity. Talk to God You can rail, yell, scream and cry. God can handle it. Talk to God as you would to a good friend. Tell him that youre scared and dont know what to do. Ask for insight. Ask for peace and be open to both when they come. The response may be presented through inner means such as your intuition. It may also come in an outer way. You may unexpectedly run in to an old friend who has just the right thing to say, or you could find a passage in a book that leaps out at you with the answer youve been seeking. You are loved. You are cared about and surrounded by a loving presence at all times. You are not alone. Trust in a Higher purpose Why am I going through this? you ask. God knows! And Im not being facetious. Asking that question when youre in the midst of any difficult situation doesnt usually provoke a satisfactory response. The Universe has a plan for your life. Have faith that the power that causes the sun to rise and set, the trees to bloom and babies to grow also knows how to grow your soul and a prosperous life for you. There is a master plan. The code to unlocking this plan lies in your ability to keep your heart open and to listen to the voice of God within. Nothing else matters and all is unfolding perfectly. Trust the process.
