Dear Friends The topic of this newsletter is "Five Ways to Cure Worry." Youll find the essay in #6 below. We're all being besieged with headlines threatening various international doomsday scenarios. It's difficult not imagining your own personal Armageddon. I hope you find the essay helpful and that it brings you some calm and peace. My husband and I decided we needed a brief break from all the bad economic news. We just got back from a short two-day retreat by the ocean in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. That's a great "worry free zone" for me. We stayed at a cottage right by the sea. It gave us some much-needed time to decompress, rest, meditate, talk and read. I was struck by the thought that it's easier to gain perspective and insight when I'm out of my ordinary surroundings. The world felt full of possibilities rather limited by circumstances. It was an inexpensive, restorative weekend. In fact, we brought and cooked our own food. We sat on the deck watching the sunset while eating dinner. Our one indulgence was seeing the movie, "Nights in Rodanthe" with Richard Gere and Diane Lane. I loved it! Its a wonderful movie about love, compassion and forgiveness. Just be sure you bring a lot of Kleenex. Many of you have written and asked about my photos from the Japan visit. You can still find them on my website: Japan photos Keep dreaming big dreams In gratitude,
Lynn

~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~* Many of you have written to me asking for techniques and ideas about attracting more prosperity (MONEY!) into your life. I decided to write a thirty-week e-course on the topic. Ive always been fascinated by the fact that some people seem to create abundance and success in their lives and others seem to experience only failure and poverty. Is it fate? Are there a lucky few who are destined to have money, fame and fortune? I wrote this course because I believe each of us has been given all the resources we need to accomplish the mission we came here to fulfill. We learn to create abundance in our lives and in our world through the power of our thoughts and the connection of our Spirit. Many of us have not only forgotten our life purpose, we have also forgotten how to use the tools that forge the path to prosperity, success, love and health. In the Dear God: Send Money thirty-week course youll find tools, exercises, inspirational quotes and techniques to help you create financial as well as spiritual abundance. Let's be honest and admit that worrying seems to be human nature. We all do it to one degree or
another. Unfortunately, it tends to make us miserable. But what is worry exactly? Does it serve a
purpose? I think of worrying as making up stories in our mind. They're usually self-talk narratives
filled with dire pictures of what we fear will become of our situation or us.
Author Corrie ten Boom writes, "Worry does not empty tomorrow of sorrow - it empties today
of strength."
When you worry, you create an energy vibration of fear that is not conducive to attracting the
life you want and deserve. Here are five "cures" to help you break the worry habit.
Switch the Channel on Worry
But simply the recognition that you're worrying isnt usually enough to change it.
What can you do to switch the channel? Ask yourself the question, "What do I want?"
For example, if your worry du jour is imagining yourself broke and penniless, turn it around.
What you probably want is to feel safe. You might also want to imagine having enough or more
than enough money. Your task at this point is not to figure out how this will happen,
it's simply to begin choosing something you want versus something you don't.
Sometimes you don't know what you want. Or, the thought of imagining something so dramatically
different stops you in your tracks. If this is the case, switching the channel on worry may be
to simply say, "I want to feel at peace." "I'm choosing not to worry right now." Or, "I'm open to
something easier."
If youve got a bad worry habit going on, you may need to be patient as you retrain your brain.
Also, all of this is much easier at 3 in the afternoon than at 3 in the morning when you're
lying awake with not a lot to distract you! The great positive thinker, Dale Carnegie, once
said, "If you can't sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there and worrying."
It's the worry that gets you, not the loss of sleep.
Keep Your Focus on Gratitude
Pray for Peace and Guidance
You may wish for a direct, clear message from God. Sometimes that happens. More often,
you'll feel a sense of peace that wasn't there before, or you'll be drawn to a passage
in a book that provides comfort. Pay attention to that "still, quiet inner voice."
It's one of the ways that the Divine imparts His wisdom.
Distract Yourself
Sitting alone and thinking about your problems only serves to intensify them and make you more
miserable. If all of this, uplifting advice isn't making you feel better, get out and do
something for someone else. Check out a homeless shelter, soup kitchen, a daycare that could
use some volunteers, anything that temporarily gets you out of your house and circumstances.
Sometimes all you need is to feel less alone and to join the human race again.
Intuition Interlude
Lastly, if all else fails, remember what humorist Mark Twain said: "Drag your thoughts
away from your troubles... by the ears, by the heels, or any other way you can manage it."
