On Monday, October 24, 2005 at 10:00 am in hearing room 412, of The John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Councilmember Kwame R. Brown, Chair of the Special Committee on a Comprehensive Policy For Local, Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, will hold a public oversight hearing on the obstacles confronting the Districts Local, Small, and Disadvantaged Businesses. The purpose of this public oversight hearing is to receive testimony from the LSDBE community in regards to obstacles they have encountered while trying to acquire LSDBE certification, attain contracts, access capital, and otherwise participate in the Districts LSDBE program. The Special Committee extends an invitation to the public to testify at the hearing. Persons who wish to testify are asked to contact Aaron Nelson, Special Assistant for the Special Committee on a Comprehensive Policy for Local, Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, at (202) 724-5355 and furnish their name, telephone number and organizational affiliation by noon, Friday, October 21, 2005. You may also forward your information via fax to (202) 724-8156 or email to anelson@dccouncil.us. Written statements to be presented at the public oversight hearing should be transmitted no later than two days prior to the public oversight hearing. Witnesses should also bring 20 copies of their testimony to the public oversight hearing.
