Brown Holds Walking Tour of D.C.'s Main Streets
Starting this week, Councilmember Brown will tour D.C.'s main streets along with local businesses and community leaders to ensure that all programs are meeting the needs of its community while enhancing the overall neighborhood retail-serving environment.
The summer tours will be conducted to review the efforts to attract and retain businesses throughout the city's busiest corridors. The first tour will kick off on Wednesday, August 15 in the Mount Pleasant community at 3200 Mt. Pleasant and Park Rd, NW. As Chair of the Council's Committee on Economic Development, Brown desires to establish opportunities for growth where residents are the primary benefactors to the city's economic abundance, as he looks forward to bringing projects to completion that enrich the lives of District residents. In addition to the neighborhood tours that Councilmember Brown conducts with community development corporations and main streets organizations, Brown looks forward to taking aggressive steps towards restoring hope and maximizing growth of District communities. Tours are scheduled for the following neighborhoods: - August 15 - Mount Pleasant Main Streets - start at 3200 block of Mount Pleasant & Park Road
- August 16 - Adams Morgan Main Streets
- August 22 - Barracks Row Main Streets
- August 23 - Gateway Georgia Avenue & Shaw Main Streets
- August 29 - Dupont Circle Main Streets
- August 30 - Anacostia Main Streets
