DCPS Beautification Day: Saturday, August 25, 2007 8:00am to 1:00pm The annual DCPS Beautification Day, established in 2005 as the official day for a citywide spruce up of all DC public school buildings and front grounds in preparation for school opening, will be held this year on Saturday, August 25, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This activity, in past years, has been a joint venture of DCPS, parent leaders and community organizations. Beautification efforts will include landscaping, trash pick-up, light painting, planting flowers, and other external beautification efforts. Volunteers are needed at all sites. Don't allow your children to miss the first day of school! All District of Columbia children are required to have up-to-date shots before the start of school on August 27. For uninsured and underinsured District of Columbia residents, please contact one of the Express Immunization Clinics below. Proof of residency required. Bring one of the following: driver's license, non-driver ID, current utility bill (not a phone bill), lease and letter from D.C. school stating student needs immunizations, current pay stub showing D.C. tax withholding, documentation showing current receipt of financial assistance from D.C. such as TANF, Medicaid, housing assistance.
