Come Show Your Support for D.C. Voting Rights! Act Comes to Senate Floor Today
A Message from DC Vote:
Please join supporters of DC voting rights today at the Capitol Senate gallery to witness a historic vote on the DC House Voting Rights Act (S. 1257). Debate starts at 2:15 PM. Voting begins at 3:30 PM. This is the most important moment for the DC voting rights movement in a generation! Come show your support! Persons should be aware that in addition to the traditional prohibited items, the US Senate does not allow bottled water, food or any kind of spray bottle (e.g., perfume, etc.). The current system does not always allow non-constituents to send e-mails to senators. As you know, DC residents are not represented by U.S. Senators. Washingtonians, please ask your friends and family out in the states to contact their senators on your behalf. To reach a senator's office by phone, call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at 202.224.3121.
