LISTENING LEADER LAZER LESSONS
MULTI-TASKING IN THE COURTROOM???
In England last month, a juror was dismissed from the jury in a murder trial after it was alleged she was listening to music through head phones concealed under her traditional Muslim headscarf.
In briefing the jury about the case before the trial began, the judge said, "This is so important, it is so fundamentally important, we have got to get it right." He reported hearing sounds and the jurist was ordered back to Court after the trial to answer a charge of contempt.
The jurist's barrister was asked if she accepted or denied the charge. She said: "Denies." The dismissed juror was told she will face a High Court judge if the case goes ahead.
In addition to not concentrating in court, she is also said to have been persistently late and trying to excuse herself from jury service the Judge said.
LISTENING LEADER LAZER LESSON: The evidence on multi-tasking continues to pour in Multi-tasking is a Myth, especially in the court room.
