LISTENING LEADER LAZER LESSONS
THE BEST SALES PROFESSIONALS ARE GREAT LISTENERS
You'll be blessed when you find your ideal sales professional because the best are truly interested. They look at you, not at the pictures on the wall, the papers on the desk, or the floor. They ask pertinent questions about what you say.
One way you can test whether a sales professional is really listening is to ask them for their opinion or advice. Describe a business challenge you've had to face recently. Then ask, "How would you deal with this?" Pay special attention to how carefully they listened to "this", not to their proposed solution.
Some sales representatives will respond to your question by twisting the context to meet their own agendas; great listeners, respond with comments that reflect "your" concerns rather than their desires. They care about you first.
