The Resolutionary

Friday, February 10, 2006

Dear Friends:

You are invited to the first Resolutionary Long Course. I am looking forward to building this community. Given the headlines of our world situation the time seems ripe for more people schooled in the arena of collaboration, communication and conflict resolution skills.

We are the problem and the solution

   >   Are you aware of stress in your life and in the world?

   >   Imagine life without much of the “chatter” and disruption of that stress!

   >   Imagine creating a shared vision and a road map to it with anyone!

This program provides ways of thinking and conversational tools that prevent and resolve conflicts. It shows you how to create strong personal and professional partnerships that will help you achieve what you want. At the end of the program you will be a "Resolutionary” - competent enough to begin using and teaching the “Cycle of Resolution.”

The program is an interactive communal learning experience using a custom designed e-learning program. The goal is building a community of “Resolutionaries" who will teach and resolve conflict as a result of learning conversational tools and cultivating the Presence that results from dealing with their own conflicts. Through becoming clearer, quieter, and a more centered presence you will be more available to others without the interference of personal needs, or the projection of past experiences. The program is devoted to the process, expansion, growth, and learning that supports developing that Presence.

The program will last for three months. It will begin and end with two-day live seminars. It will include teleconferences, bi-weekly assignments, personal coaching and facilitated, archived electronic dialogue and building of an on-line community. During the course of the program all the material in “ResolutionWorksOnline,”  "Getting to Resolution," and "The Book of Agreement" will be covered in depth. The real learning will come from the application of the tools and principles in your life as you create new agreements and resolve old conflicts.

THE PROMISE: You will learn valuable tools and techniques; and you will grow personally in ways of being and thinking through using and internalizing the materials. You will free up energy as old conflicts are resolved and new agreements are created.

My vision:  you will be part of the core cadre for building an international network of providers that will train others. The goal: moving from a competitive to a cooperative culture through educating children, NGO’s, government organizations and corporate operatives in the principles and actions of agreement and resolution; and then using these groups as distribution channels.

I believe conquering “inner space” is essential for the next horizon of human engagement and productivity. How we get along with others on the ever shrinking planet will determine our survival. The potential to thrive depends on the challenge of harnessing our inner space. The vision is that we become extraordinary compassionate listeners embracing the words of the poet Longfellow:

"If you knew the secret history of those you would like

to punish you would find a sorrow and suffering enough

to disarm all of your hostility."

When the core community forms others will be attracted and a movement will spread to governments, communities, organizations (business, NGO’s, schools,) family’s and individuals. I look forward to the opportunity of getting to know you, making a contribution to each other's lives, and making the world a  more habitable, productive place to be.

Sincerely,

Stewart
