Greetings from Tapas

Join Tapas in California, Geneva, or Toronto

Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology Conference in November

Dear Friends,

Summer is full of beauty here at the beach in Southern California. I sat on a high cliff overlooking the ocean yesterday. A flock of pelicans glided by and blue tones in the water glistened in the bay far below. I read funny stories about travel in Europe and prepared to meet friends in Geneva in just a couple of weeks.

I hope you are finding time to enjoy the season.

I had the pleasure of working with a teenager recently. I found it very supportive to mention to her that she didn't have to tell me anything about specific incidents she wanted to work on. There were a few incidents that she didn't want to talk about or identify in any way. I felt lots of change during those pieces of our work together.

During our work together, as she worked on each step, she would let me know when it felt done. Each step usually took around half a minute or less. We worked on a few traumatic incidents in her life in each sitting. Half an hour together was plenty because she cruised through so much so fast.

I am reporting this to you just to remind you that no one needs to divulge any information to you at all as their friend or therapist guiding them through this process and it works perfectly well. Also, to let you know that profound and permanent change can happen in seconds. I find this usual with young people as well as very
athletically fit people.

Early this summer, I visited my guru, Ammachi. She tried the front part of the TAT pose out on herself (she was hugging someone else with her other arm) as one of her close students explained the technique and how it is used to help people overcome trauma as she showed Amma photos of people doing the TAT pose. Amma gave her blessings to TAT and to me to teach it. Amma is directing enormous humanitarian projects worldwide and I hope to teach TAT to aid in relief efforts for tsunami victims as well as orphans, widows and hospitalized patients. If Amma's work interests you, you can learn more at amma.org.

If you have any health issues and would like to use TAT to change your underlying emotions, beliefs and thoughts that relate to your illness, please get the DVD or video on Healing the Emotional Aspects of Cancer. Although cancer was my subject, the healing approaches taught apply to any illness.

During the upcoming TAT Symposium, two of the speakers will be presenting on subjects that you must know if you are a TAT professional. Pat Thatcher will be teaching on "Counseling for Non-Counselors" and Mary Sise will teach on Integrating Energy Psychology (specifically TAT) into the Treatment of Multiply Traumatized Patients. These will become part of the TAT Trainers package. If you plan to attend the TAT Trainers Day, then I highly recommend you also attend the rest of the Symposium. If you can't, it will be available later as an audio class.

Meet the illustrious keynote speakers for this exciting conference:

On Thursday morning Dr. Jerry Wesch, a self-proclaimed “closet mystic", will open the conference in his unique and humorous style with Science, Energy & Healing: Matters of Metaphor & Mechanis
(1.5 CE Credits)

Energy psychology is the latest of a group of well documented experiential phenomena that seem to fall outside usual materialistic paradigm explanations. The "energy" explanations often used in the field are phenomenologically congruent with therapist/healer experiences but are fraught with problems in theory as well as for research design. Some would call "energy" a metaphor rather than a "fact". Skeptics might prefer to call the "energy" idea a delusion or fantasy. This presentation reviews what we think we know (and don't know) scientifically about energy healing and psi phenomena that may shed light on energy psychology's attempt to validate and explain the remarkable results it often achieves.

Dr. Wesch is a clinical health psychologist and alternative medicine researcher with almost 35 years of professional experience with mind/body therapies and with personal experience of anomalous phenomena going back to childhood. His first psychology research project as a high school student suggested that love enhanced psi hit rates. He was an NIH-funded Co-Investigator on the NIH/NIAID Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study and is Past-President of ISSSEEM. He currently directs a miltidisciplinary pain program in Chicago.

On Friday morning Dr. James J. Hurtak and his lovely, angelic wife and partner, Desiree Hurtak, MS.Sc will challenge our brains with Awakening to the Limitless Mind (1.5 CE Credits)

Working towards an end to suffering we need to discover our limitless mind. To see our mind as a small microcosm, we need only to reach out into our local environment through the subtle currents and fields of energy, to allow one vibrational dimension to interface and communicate with the whole. This implies that, through a greater consciousness network, we can gain access to information around the world, even to different consciousness universes. When we begin to understand how to start the process, we discover that our minds are omnidirectional. Understanding our interconnectedness releases us from our limitations and makes us part of the greater totality.

J. J. Hurtak, Ph.D., Ph.D. Social Scientist and Futurist, is founder and President of The Academy For Future Science, an international organization and author of over twenty books including the editor of Consciousness, Energy, and Future Science. His graduate studies include work at the University of California (Ph.D) and the University of Minnesota (Ph.D). He was a speaker at the UN-WSSD environmental Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2002 on advances in biophysics and water purification. In May of 2001 he spoke with Robert Lanza at Imperial College, London on the subject of Cloning at a conference sponsored by the Science and Medical Network of the UK. You may recall that Dr. Lanza works at Advanced Cell Technology, the first US company to clone a human embryo. He was also a speaker at the Parliament for the World’s Religions Conference in 1999 in Cape Town and 2004 in Barcelona.

Desiree Hurtak, MS.Sc (Social Scientist and Environmentalist) is a researcher and author of several books on the development of consciousness science. She is cofounder of The Academy For Future Science which is an international non-profit corporation which has branches in South Africa and various countries in South America. Her recent work involves comparative environmental studies and the deeper understanding of indigenous cultures investigating their ancient cosmologies. To this end, she has also participated in the documentation of indigenous cultures to preserve their heritage. She is co-author with her husband of the book Pistis Sophia: Text and Commentary which brings out the importance of restoring the balance of our female-male nature for consciousness growth.

Saturday morning Dr. Bruno Cortis, MD goes straight to the heart with
The Spiritual Heart: A Path to Self Discovery and Healing (1.5 CE Credits)

Within our body lie two domains: the domain of the mind and the domain of the heart. The mind is primarily a reactive system, driven by the unsatisfied need for control and power. Our mind is materialistic, judgmental, impatient and constantly demands our attention. The heart, in contrast is driven more by spiritual concerns, by love. Our heart seeks connectedness, self expression, and fulfillment of our deepest needs in life. By becoming aware of the spiritual nature of our heart, we will be able to communicate with our heart, to use our heart intelligence, and to see through the eyes of our heart. This experience will affect our life and allow a new freedom.”

For Dr. Bruno Cortis, the heart is the center of the consciousness and the seat of the soul that opens self-healing pathways. Dr. Bruno Cortis is a Cardiologist with over 30 years experience. As the Founder of Mind Your Health he has given presentations to audiences on five continents. Luminaries such as Drs. Chopra, Siegel, and Dossey have endorsed his books: Heart and Soul and The Spiritual Heart. He has published 80 articles. Dr. Cortis is an Assistant Professor at Rush University and Visiting Professor at Guadalajara University. He speaks 3 language

Saturday afternoon, just when you think that all the topics have been covered and just when you think that you’re full and sated, Dr. William A. Tiller, one of the illustrious stars of our Energy Psychology community, acclaimed and prolific author, will wind up the proceedings with Science, Psychoenergetic Processes and the Evolving Soul (1.5 CE Credits)

This talk briefly addresses why and how we do science, highlighting the key difference between physics, biology, psychology and sociology science as well as between conventional physics and psychoenergetic physics. A few examples of robust psychoenergetic processes in humans will also be presented to illustrate how human consciousness can dominate the physics involved. Next, the author’s working hypothesis model of what constitutes the whole person and the place of the human soul in this theoretical construct will be given. In this construct, what interfaces with the outer world of spacetime, what interfaces with the inner worlds and where does energy psychology enter the picture? Finally, how does the whole person mature and evolve in this theoretical framework; what does the growing connectivity between humans mean and how do we, each as individuals, develop into planetary avatars during this “inbreathing phase of the all”?

Professor Emeritus of Stanford University, Dr. Tiller earned engineering physics and physical metallurgy degrees at the University of Toronto before spending 9 years at the Westinghouse Research laboratories in Pittsburgh and then moving on to become a full professor in 1964 at Stanford University’s Department of Material Science. In 1971, he branched out to conduct both conventional science (250 scientific papers and 3 books) and, avocationally, psychoenergetics science (almost 100 scientific papers, two books and still counting). Dr. Tiller’s latest book is "Some Science Adventures with Real Magic" and he is one of the “stars” in the movie "What The Bleep Do We Know?" He currently lives in Northern Arizona with his wife Jean and continues his psycho-energetic research.
